Definition of magnet antenna
The magnet antenna is an antenna that is attached to the metal surface through a magnetic base. It is often used in mobile communication devices such as car radios and handheld walkie-talkies. (As shown below)
Antenna radiator: The materials include stainless steel, pure copper, memory alloy, etc., and the shape is generally whip-shaped or rod-shaped. The suction cup antenna radiator is actually a monopole (whip-shaped) antenna. One arm of the symmetrical vibrator is perpendicular to an ideal conductor plane (ground). According to the antenna principle, the resonant frequency of the wire antenna is an integer multiple of 1/2 wavelength. According to the mirror principle, on an ideal infinite plane, the ideal minimum electrical size of the suction cup antenna is 1/4 wavelength. If you want to increase the gain, you can use the middle inductance and increase the length of the antenna radiator (integer multiple of 1/4 wavelength).
Magnetic base: The strong magnetic suction cup contains a strong magnet, which is used to adsorb on the metal surface.
Cable: Cable connecting antenna and transceiver
SMA male: Common interface types include N head, SMA, BNC, TNC, I-PEX, etc. Among them, the common Connectors of suction cup antenna are N head, SMA, BNC, TNC, etc., divided into male and female. When choosing an antenna, you must buy a connector that matches the device.
Precautions for using magnet antenna
The electrical performance of the antenna is closely related to the environment in which it is used. The resonant frequency is affected by the dielectric constant of the material around the antenna. Its use and performance are inseparable from the design environment requirements and the installation and use environment.
1. The antenna is placed in a position where the signal can be transmitted well;
2. It must be connected to the metal floor and placed perpendicular to the floor;
3. The antenna radiator cannot contact the surrounding metal;
4. It cannot be placed in a closed metal box.
Use of magnet antenna
The advantage of the magnet antenna is that if it is installed correctly, it can have a lower standing wave ratio and higher efficiency than the built-in antenna, and it does not need to be customized. Compared with the rubber stick antenna, the suction cup antenna has a higher gain at the same frequency band and structural size, and different installation positions can be selected according to actual use needs.
1. The magnet antenna can be used in outdoor electrical boxes and car-mounted. When used outdoors, the antenna cover can be selected to be made of fiberglass and other materials, which can be waterproof and windproof.
2. The magnet antenna can also be used in vending machines. The base of the antenna is a strong magnetic suction cup, which is easy to install and not easy to fall.
3. The magnet antenna can also be used for wireless meter reading. The antenna structure is light and the appearance is beautiful.
